Evaluation and mitigation analysis of carbon footprint for an airline operator: Case of Nepal airlines corporation

This paper deals with evaluation and analysis of carbon footprint an airline operator, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) by using its actual flight maintenance data from 2016 to 2019. NAC is a multi-fleet both turboprop turbofan aircrafts. Carbon in terms Dioxide (CO2) emission has been calculated for NAC’s operations per individual aircraft, fleet-type operating sector (i.e., international domestic), total ground handling operations. In each the study years, contribution CO2 production domestic fleet was found out be very small (below 6% yearly total), even though number outnumbered that fleet. indicates better optimization opportunities international-sector (turbofan) aircrafts than domestic-sector (turboprop) Reductions fuel on-board as prescribed levels, airport slot management selection long-haul destinations have identified potential mitigation strategies sector.
